November continued in the same fashion as both September and October with a busy month as championships began to reach their conclusions and titles were handed out.
The first weekend of the month saw Porsche Motorsport Asia Pacific clinch the Thailand Super Series Drivers’ Championship with AAS Motorsport by EBM’s Vutthikorn Inthraphuvasak in Buriram. The Thai driver produced a brilliant display over the course of the season, alongside teammates Laurin Heinrich and Porsche Motorsport Asia Pacific Selected Driver Dorian Boccolacci, only finishing off the podium once across the ten races on his way to the title.
At the same time in Japan, seven x seven Racing capped off a remarkable debut Super GT campaign by scoring its third consecutive podium. Kiyoto Fujinami and Harry King came through from seventh in the #666 Porsche 911 GT3 R to snatch third after a fantastic late overtake by King.
Following a rare weekend off, the Pole team had their alarms set bright and early for one of the highlights of the year, the Macau Grand Prix. Five Porsche entries took on the world-famous Guia Circuit in the FIA GT World Cup, with Alessio Picariello securing a podium in the Qualification Race on Saturday for Absolute Racing.
A dramatic start at the beginning of Sunday’s FIA GT World Cup allowed Schumacher CLRT’s Laurin Heinrich to make his way up from eighth to third, which is where he finished to clinch an impressive result.
Meanwhile at Fuji Speedway, seven x seven Racing continued its amazing form by clinching the Super Taikyu Series title with a fourth victory of a superb debut campaign, despite missing two races.
The following weekend saw a first-ever Super Formula triple-header for Kids com Team KCMG at Suzuka International Racing Course. Nirei Fukuzumi scored points across all three rounds to secure fifth for the squad in the teams’ standings, ensuring its second-best finish since joining the series in 2010.
Additionally, former DAMS Formula 2 driver Ayumu Iwasa won the Super Formula Drivers’ Championship after a superb campaign, taking two wins and five further podiums over the twelve rounds.
The Pole team also had a trip out towards the end of November helping The Film Crew to capture some content with the new Porsche Motorsport Asia Pacific Selected Driver Enzo Trulli, who has joined the marque after impressing in his debut Porsche Carrera Cup Asia season.
December looks set to start busy with Formula E getting underway in São Paulo as well as Asian Le Mans Series kicking off in Sepang, before the wind down to Christmas begins.
