June In The Fast Lane – Pole Ltd Newsletter

After a busy few months, the Pole team were greeted with a couple of weekends off before racing action got back underway in Europe and Asia towards the end of June.

Formula E returned to the island of Hainan for a first trip to Sanya since 2019, with Nissan Formula E Team’s strong strategy going unrewarded due to incidents, despite both Oliver Rowland and Norman Nato looking on course to score positive results.

On the same weekend, Team KCMG was back in action at the Nürburgring as Kamui Kobayashi, Nirei Fukuzumi and Naoya Gamou took on NLS6. The all-Japanese trio lined up on the front row and overcame an incident outside of its control to cross the line ninth, gaining more valuable experience around the Nordschleife.

Finishing off the racing action in June was the iconic CrowdStrike 24 Hours of Spa, which saw Porsche secure an incredible ninth victory at the event and a first since 2020. Lionspeed GP’s Bastian Buus, Thomas Preining and Ricardo Feller lined up in the pit-lane after engine changes and showed excellent pace in the hot and humid conditions around Spa-Francorchamps to claim overall success, gaining 65 positions across the enduro.

The event also saw Porsche Motorsport Asia Pacific Selected Driver Enzo Trulli make another 24-hour race debut in June, after finishing fourth in the 24 Hours of Le Mans LMP2 Pro-Am category earlier in the month. The Italian gained further vital experience in the Porsche 911 GT3 R at one of the world’s most competitive endurance races, but unfortunately during Saturday night, an incident brought the team’s event to a premature end.

Away from the racetrack, Porsche Carrera Cup Asia had plenty happening as the series welcomed a title partner, ARbox, with the championship now being named Porsche ARbox Carrera Cup Asia.

Additionally, the Talent Pool will be rebranded to the Porsche Motorsport Asia Pacific Talent Pool Presented by Michelin from next season onwards, with the 2027 Assessment Test taking place at Sepang International Circuit on 7-9 September 2026.

July looks set to be a busy month with Formula E holding double-headers in Shanghai and Tokyo, as well as Porsche ARbox Carrera Cup Asia in action at the Bangsaen Grand Prix. GT World Challenge Asia and China GT will also be hosting events in Fuji Speedway and Zhuhai respectively across July.
